There is an entire department within Wal-Mart that is in charge of internal investigations on its own employees. Full of former spies and FBI agents, these sleuths follow Wal-Marters around the globe in hopes of proving allegations ranging from fraternization to using company funds to buy donuts.
In one instance, the investigator actually put his ear to the door of a hotel room where two Wal-Mart associates were "moaning and sighing." According to the NY Times, James W. Lynn, the employee being spied on, claims he was singled out because he openly criticized the working conditions in the Central American factories he inspected.
I can see how far Wal-Mart will go to protect the company. Too bad it doesn't give a crap about its employees, fair wages, good benefits and promoting women to supervisory positions.
